In a late night shocker, Yahoo Sports has announced that the Lakers have hired Mike D’Antoni as their new head coach.

D’Antoni, who is 61, coached Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns to the playoffs and last coached the New York Knicks.
Many believe that Phil Jackson was asking for too much, which is why the Lakers went elsewhere.
It will be fun to see how D’Antoni’s coaching fits with the Lakers players.
