21 points and 15 rebounds from leading scorer Josh Davis just wasn’t enough for the Tulane Green Wave as they fell to the 28-4 top seeded Memphis Tigers.
The Tigers, who are trying to win their seventh conference championship in eight years got an extraordinary game from Chris Crawford who roasted Tulane for 24 points and helped his team take a 44-27 lead at halftime.
Tulane fought to stay in the game, but the defense and transition offense of Memphis was way too much to handle. The Wave leading scorers of the night behind Davis were Jordan Callahan who had 18 points and Kendall Timmons who added 10 points as the loss 81-68.
With 13 turnovers in the first half, it was pretty evident by intermission that the Wave would need a miracle to come back and defeat the team that has beat them 22 times straight.
