Rene Bourque of the Calgary Flames has been suspended for hitting Washington Capitals Nicklas Backstrom in the head with his elbow. Since Bourque has been suspended before, the punishment will cost him $203,252.05 of his salary (wow that’s a lot of money).
After watching the hit, it’s easy to think the NHL overreacted with the suspension.
