Listen, I am excited to see how all of the players’ games translate at the next level, but it feels like I watched this WNBA class grow up. So, I am a little more excited about this class than some of the ones in the past. However, I want to point out three specific players that I am excited to see how their games will translate at the next level.
Rickea Jackson – Rickea Jackson is the player that I feel is one of the most complete in the draft. Jackson can score from anywhere on the court, can get in the post with ease, has speed, can guard on the perimeter and in the paint, can rebound, has a nice mid-range shot, and is just a dog on the court. I know there are bigger names in the draft, but at the end of the year, I will not be surprised if Rickea is the player that wins the Rookie of the Year.
Dyaisha Fair – Dyaisha is such a joy to watch. She’s quick, she can create her own shot, and her playmaking skills are off the charts. Fair is one of those players that can come off the bench and be an automatic spark for a team. Sometimes, bucket-getters don’t translate to the league, but Dyaisha is a bucket, and on the right team, I can see Fair living on the highlight reels and being a fan favorite. This is one of the players that I am most excited to watch.
Cameron Brink – Maybe I am wrong here, but I personally feel that if this were any other year, Brink could have been the first pick in the draft. She’s one of those players that can defend in the paint, get blocks, has a high basketball IQ, and is still able to be one of the most fun players to watch on offense. Brink is definitely on my list for Rookie of the Year along with Rickea Jackson.
