The Wings Show Fight but lose in final preseason Game and Make A Few Cuts Directly After Game

The Dallas Wings showed a lot of promise in their final preseason game but after a rough third quarter the team couldn’t pull out the win.

Wings guard had a good game as she led the team with fourteen points.

After the game, the rookie spoke about her performance

On the way she played tonight)
“I kind of just fed off of my teammates. My job was to pick up the ball and I think it all started from there. The whole team started on defense. I just did whatever the team needed me to and I filled in wherever I could. “

On being a new member of the team
“I think our veteran players have helped. Skylar and Tayler have been teaching me a lot of things. I’ve just been listening to them and trying to apply it all on the court. I’m taking everything that they are telling me.”

(On having worked with Coach Brian Agler before)
I kind of knew his style before I came here. Of course, there was still a lot I needed to learn, but I think coming in I knew what to expect.”

Coach Agler also spoke out about the game

Head Coach Brian Agler
(On the third quarter of the game)
“I thought we were playing pretty well for the first four or five minutes and then a series of miscues defensively, turnovers on offense, technical fouls, and some made shots from them happened. In regards to the whole day, I thought we had some good things happen in the first half, especially, where we hit some shots. We played well and we had some good defensive spurts for a while. Throughout, I think we just learned a lot about our team and now we just have to keep moving forward.”

(On the team’s chemistry)
“I think it’s really good. There is a really good chemistry and I think the team gets along well. There are a lot of people fighting for a position since we can’t keep everybody. Everybody has been supportive of each other. We have media day tomorrow and then we will be back at it on Tuesday.”

(On Brooke McCarty-Williams play today)
“I thought she played very well, especially in the first half. She gave us a spark. Without Arike, we needed more ball handlers. She did some really great things in the first half. She is more confident now. She has a year under her belt playing in Europe. She plays very hard and she’s here to compete. She is very skilled offensively and she doesn’t let her size affect her too much. She is just a really good player and she can play in this league. No question about that.”

(On Imani McGee-Stafford and Isabelle Harrison’s debuts today)
“I thought Imani did good things. I think we were plus eight with her on the floor today. For Izzy, we got her out of position a couple of times on some things we drew up and I think that kind of froze her a bit, pulled her out of her comfort zone. These next three days of practice will really be beneficial for her.”
